The International Liaison Officer (ILO) is a representative of NCA posted abroad, strategically located, to help tackle the organised crime threat where there is a direct impact on the UK, through collaboration with host nation law enforcement and intelligence organisations.
An ILO is diplomatically accredited and in most circumstances based in a British High Commission or Embassy.
ILOs are a part of the British diplomatic missions operating in country. ILOs engage with HMG initiatives and utilise their skills, capabilities and influence to contribute to UK strategic aims.
ILOs are deployed in 50 countries worldwide and provide coverage to over 130 countries.
The ILO mentor is a member of the ILO team focussing on the mentoring, management and supervision of teams that support the ILO and NCA mission overseas.
