Rob joined us in November 2019 from the Home Office where he was Head of the Communications Capabilities Unit (CCU), responsible for all aspects of strategy development, enterprise coherence, and portfolio management for targeted capabilities under the provisions of the Investigatory Powers Act 2016.
Since 2017 Rob had also been the Senior Responsible Owner for the Common Data Programme, a key enabler for the Home Office data strategy, that provides consistent and efficient person-centric systems of record that support policy and operational decision makers.
Rob qualified with a degree in Electronic Systems Engineering in 1988 and joined the Ministry of Defence at one of its research establishments at Fort Halstead in Kent (now Dstl). His early years were spent researching novel techniques and managing industrial research contracts on specialist search and electronic countermeasure programmes, as part of the military counter terrorism (CT) programme.
