Ten kilos of heroin found stashed in car boot

Two men from the West Midlands have been charged following the discovery of ten kilos of heroin stashed in a suitcase in the boot of a car.

As part of an operation led by officers from the joint National Crime Agency and Met Police Organised Crime Partnership (OCP), the two men were stopped at a Heathrow Airport Car Park on Sunday 22 July.

Searching the vehicle, officers found ten kilos of heroin in a suitcase in the boot.

Driver Abid Hussain, 50, of Wells Avenue, Wednesbury, Walsall and passenger 54 year-old Janger Khan of William Cook Road, Birmingham were charged with conspiracy to import Class A drugs

A search of Hussain’s home uncovered £7,700 in cash which officers believe to be criminal money.

Both men appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court yesterday [Monday 23 July] and remanded into custody until their next appearance at Blackfriars Crown Court on 20 August.
