An illegal immigrant found with 9.5 kilos of cocaine with a street value of nearly £1m has been jailed for 12 years following an investigation by the joint National Crime Agency and Metropolitan Police Organised Crime Partnership (OCP).
Suad Sufaj, aged 26, was stopped by officers as he travelled in a car along Bowes Road, Enfield, north London, on 26 September last year. A search of the car uncovered a kilo of cocaine with a street value of £100,000.
OCP officers searched his home where they found another 8.5 kilos of cocaine worth approximately £800,000.
Sufaj pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court
Matt McMillan, from the NCA, said: “Disrupting the supply of Class A drugs is crucial in our efforts to tackle organised crime and the violence it causes in and around London.
“Working with our partners from the Met we have stopped nearly £1m of cocaine from getting onto the streets on the UK.”
Following his sentence Sufaj will be deported to Albania.
