Strategy Senior Manager

Location: Multiple locations
Closing date: 05 June 2023

We are recruiting senior managers across the Command.

NCA Secretariat
The NCA Secretariat team is the custodian of the relationship with Whitehall and Parliament, particularly with the Home Office, but also with the Cabinet Office, No 10, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The team:

Strategy and Planning
Strategy & Planning are responsible for setting the Agency’s overall direction of travel, anticipating future opportunities and building positions – in partnership – to best capitalise on them. Sitting at the heart of the Agency – but working across it – the team leads strategic inputs into a wide range of topics relevant to law enforcement and national security on behalf of the wider Agency and Director General cadre.

The team operates in a fast paced environment that is fun, supportive and rewarding and offers the post holder a role with huge variety, where no day is the same and you will have space to think and engage.

Strategy Implementation Unit
Strategy and Change sits at the heart of the Agency, setting long-term direction, supporting senior leaders in their decision-making, and working closely with partners across HMG and law enforcement.

The new Strategy Implementation Unit (SIU) will oversee the implementation of the new five-year Strategy in line with the values set out within it. The SIU will continually assess how all parts of the NCA are aligned to the Strategy, regularly reporting to ExCo and the NCA Board. The Unit will then work with senior leaders and their business areas to identify opportunities to work differently / more effectively to align to – and deliver – the Strategy’s objectives.

The SIU is a small team, but with a critical role that loves over and engages with every part of the NCA. You will acquire and maintain an in-depth understanding of how the work of the Directorate and wider Agency is interlinked, identifying and communicating areas of convergence and divergence. As Grade 2 in the SIU, you will work closely with colleagues in the Future Strategy & Projects (FSP) team, the Performance, Assurance & Risk (PAR) team, business functions from across the whole NCA, and the NCA’s senior leaders. This is an exciting role for anyone looking to develop themselves in a challenging strategic environment.
