Head of Operations for Drugs and Firearms (Commodities). This is part of the NCA’s Threat Leadership Command, the role entails leading teams managing the NCA’s response to the two threats and driving the wider multi-agency governance arrangements on each threat. The role spans the oversight of operational intelligence officers and the oversight of operations and high level strategic engagement with a variety of partners across UK law enforcement, Whitehall Departments, foreign partners, NGOs and the private sector to ensure there is a comprehensive, coordinated and energetic response to the three threat types.

The wider Threat Leadership also manages the response to Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), cybercrime, Organised Immigration Crime (OIC), Modern -Slavery and Human Trafficking (MSHT) and Borders and the Command works as a close knit team.

The role spans the management of operational intelligence officers and the oversight of operations and high level strategic engagement with a variety of partners across UK law enforcement, Whitehall Departments, foreign partners, NGOs and the private sector to ensure there is a comprehensive, coordinated and energetic response to the three threat types.

The teams are at the forefront of dealing with the high profile threat to our border posed by small boats carrying illegal migrants across the English Channel as well as providing close support to Essex Police dealing with the Purfleet incident which caused the deaths of 39 Vietnamese migrants.
