The Private Office, comprising Staff Officers and PAs, provides support to DG NCA and the 3 other DGs to drive forward the agency’s objectives. The Private Office ensures that logistical planning and briefing material have been provided to a high standard, and that programmes of work are on track. They engage with external stakeholders to build confidence in the agency.
The NCA Secretariat team is the custodian of the relationship with Whitehall and Parliament, particularly with the Home Office, but also with the Cabinet Office, No 10, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The team:
Invests in relationships with key stakeholders to support delivery of the NCA’s strategic priorities; communicate the impact of the changing SOC threat and agency response, and support and build the NCA’s reputation across strategic partners
Provides briefings for the DGs’ attendance at senior level strategic forums, and drafts accountability briefings to the Home Office
Leads the NCA's contribution to Parliamentary Questions and Consultations, Parliamentary Select Committees and Ministerial and official correspondence, and supports the appearances of DGs and Directors at Select Committees
Manages the relationship with the National Police Chiefs' Council, Police and Crime Commissioners, the devolved administrations, and Government Ministers and departments
Supports the agency's engagement with the National Security Council, and coordinates multilateral engagement
Coordinates visits by Ministers and senior officials.
