Summary

Robert Dimmock was convicted in 2006 for elaborately laundering the proceeds of his international cigarette empire.  In 2008 he was made the subject of a Proceeds of Crime Act confiscation order in the sum of £4,929,334 and given six months to pay or face a default sentence of seven and a half years. Dimmock has not repaid a penny and when he failed to appear at Leeds magistrates’ Court in June 2010 a warrant was issued for his arrest.  It is believed he has been abroad ever since.
