About the job

Job description

Organised crime is one of the greatest threats to our nation’s security. Our mission at the National Crime Agency is to tackle serious and organised crime. We have a national and international reach and the mandate to work in partnership with others to bring the full weight of the law to bear.

We are seeking six exceptional Deputy Directors to join our agency, leading on areas of critical operational importance. We are looking for inspiring individuals who have the ability to drive transformational change alongside the skills and experience to lead nationally on the agency’s complex and diverse operational priorities – tackling serious and organised crime across our priority threat areas.

To be successful, you will be a versatile and adaptable leader with a track record of delivering corporately in a complex and fast moving operational environment. You will be naturally collaborative - able to develop strong and productive relationships with colleagues across the law enforcement and intelligence community. You will have a comprehensive understanding of national and international law enforcement, and be strongly committed to serving the public through the NCA’s values of flexibility, integrity, respect and transparency.

If you are passionate about protecting the public, and relish the challenge of providing strategic leadership for a global law enforcement organisation.

The NCA leads and coordinates the UK’s response to serious and organised crime, and directs resources to tackle it in the most effective and efficient way.

We focus our efforts on three priorities:

  • building the best possible intelligence picture of all serious and organised crime threats
  • using that knowledge to relentlessly pursue those who operate at the high end of high risk
  • developing and delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of law enforcement and other partners.
